Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, graduates will be able to:

  • Implement and maintain procedures that support safety, health, environment, quality and risk management.
  • Set-up production tools in an automotive or related environment.
  • Troubleshoot machine’s malfunction in an automotive environment.
  • Discuss and explain the importance of changing and setting-up tooling for production machines.
  • Identify and solve problems using critical and creative thinking.
  • Work effectively with others as a member of a team and independently.
  • Organise and manage one's activities responsively and effectively.
  • Collect, analyse, organise and evaluate information for problem solving.
  • Communicate effectively using visual, mathematical and/or language skills in the modes of oral and/or written presentation.
  • Understand the role and importance of production workers in producing quality product and the interrelationship of various operations in the manufacturing processes.



Career Opportunities

  • Technical & supervisory position as Assistant Engineer, Assistant Executive, Supervisor, Total Productive Maintenance / Management System (TPM / HMS) Coordinator, Foreman, Technician, Laboratory Assistance & Draftsman


Entry Requirements

Minimum of 3credits in SPM but priority will be given with 5credits.

The International College of Automotive (ICAM) is owned by HICOM University College Sdn. Bhd (HUCSB), a subsidiary wholly owned by DRB-HICOM Berhad. With the approval from The Ministry of Higher Education, ICAM was officially established on 2 April 2010.
As the largest fully integrated automotive corporation in the country, DRB-HICOM is involved in numerous automotive supply chain activities which include manufacturing of automotive components, vehicle assembly and distribution, after-sales support and services and vehicle inspection.
The companies within the Group have collaborated with international automotive players such as Audi, Honda, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
ICAM serves two major roles. As a private educational institution, ICAM is committed to produce a cadre of skilled professionals to join the workforce in the automotive sector. It also serves as an institution which enables the DRB Group of Companies workers to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge. Complementing the automotive industry through sustainable development of human capital is the primary goal of ICAM establishment.
