The Diploma in Early Childhood Development is designed to improve pedagogy and teaching skills. It is also seeks to complement the Government’s target through the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to ensure all preschool educators have a minimum diploma in early childhood development by the year

This 90 credit hours programme is suitable for school leaves or early childhood professionals with the desire to attain higher qualifications to progress in their career. Students would be exposed to experiential learning and work experiences from Smart Reader®  Worldwide, a pioneer and the leader of early childhood education in Malaysia.

SRI® College was established in 2004 as an expansion project of Smart Reader® Worldwide Sdn Bhd (the largest early childhood education provider in Malaysia). Due to growing concerns of the government and parents towards the quality of early childhood education in Malaysia, SRI® College was set up to specialise in the field of Early Childhood Education, Care and Development.

Today, SRI® College is recognised as an institution of higher learning by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia and is highly experienced in the fields of Early Childhood Studies, English Language Studies and Franchise & Management studies. The college was set up to provide an avenue for higher education and professional credentials to more than 300 franchised child enrichment centres in Malaysia as well as centres in China, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Syria and Jordan.

SRI® College has also invested in qualified and dedicated lecturers to prepare students towards their success. With our skilful lecturers, we are certain that students will acquire the necessary knowledge to achieve their goals. The SRI® College academic and teaching staff comprise experts in the fields of Early Childhood Development, English for Business Communication, Mass Communication, Entrepreneurship and Franchise Management and Marketing Management.

For its contribution and efforts towards enhancing tertiary education, particularly in early childhood, SRI® College was recently awarded the Education Excellence Award under the category of IPTS (Small) by the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI).
Group Executive Director of Smart Reader® Worldwide, Dr K H Wang said, “Being a leader in the early childhood industry, the college has always placed students as its top priority. In that respect, the teaching and learning approaches have helped the students to be creative and imaginative in enhancing their skills and relating to young children.”

SRI® College was conferred the NAPEI Education Excellence Award 2010 recently. Organised by the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI), the award gives due recognition to the services of its members in private education sector. The award was presented by Dato Dr S. Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resource to Dr Justin Xavier, on behalf of SRI® College on 25th November, 2010 at the Empire Hotel, Subang Jaya.
Receiving this prestigious award under the category of IPTS Small signifies that SRI® College is an upcoming institution which is strong in its commitment and contribution to the private higher education industry in Malaysia.

In recognition of its commitment to quality and excellence, SRI® College has been bestowed the prestigious International Star for Leadership in Quality Award by Business Initiative Directions (BID). Dr K H Wang, Registrar of SRI® College and Madam Masako Kuroda, Training Director of Smart Reader® Worldwide received the coveted award on behalf of the College. The International Star for Leadership in Quality Award was conferred during the 14th International Quality Convention which was held in Paris on April 20th 2010.
The recognition, a first for SRI® College, a specialist in Early Childhood Development Studies, was awarded by BID President, Jose E. Prieto, based on the commitment of the criteria outlined in the Total Quality Management initiatives, which serve as a guideline to business leaders for the improvement of processes and systems. The award itself signifies the commitment of SRI® College as an institution devoted to upholding quality and excellence in the realm of international education.

SRI® College was recently conferred The Most Outstanding Childhood Training Provider award by the Association of Professional Early Childhood Providers (APECP) during the APECP Excellent Child Contributor Awards Nite. The award ceremony was held at Sime Darby Convention Centre on 31st March 2010. The event was an effort to recognise businesses, non-profit organisations, governments (local, state and federal), educational institutions and individuals who have made significant contributions towards improving quality and providing excellent services in early childhood education, care and development in Malaysia.
The award was presented to Dr Justin Xavier, Academic Head of SRI® College by DYTM Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Raja Puan Muda Perlis, also Patron of APECP. This prestigious recognition and award received by SRI® College signifies its commitment and contribution to the early childhood industry.
